Well, Jake had his vet appointment to get snipped today. My dog is now officially child-free, whether he likes it or not. :) When we got Jake from the animal shelter it was very difficult to put him in the car. He wanted no part of it at all. We took him to Petsmart, then home, again it was an ordeal to get him in the car. Tried again to go to Petsmart on Sunday, but he really did not want to get in the car. Well we did it. Our family is now complete at 4 kids – that is, 3 cats and a dog. :) We got Jake from an animal shelter near here. He's an Australian Shepherd mix, about a year or so old, and he's just beautiful. He doesn't bark much at all, seems to be completely housebroken, and is a very loving and smart dog. Our cats on the other hand, are pretty much pissed off. :) Hopefully they'll all settle down soon. Jake seems to want to play though, so it ought to be ok sooner or later.

Whee!! Hubby and I went to the shelter today to look at dogs. We narrowed it down to three beautiful dogs. We still want to think about it and get the right dog for us. Also, DH found that he had an allergic reaction on his hand. We're thinking it's specifically Golden Retriever related, but if it turns out it's dogs in general then we're going to have to nix the whole dog thing completely. :( But, as much as I want a dog, I don't want it if DH is going to be miserable!! Tomorrow we're going to check…

Motivation? What's that? So we moved into this wonderful house months ago (just how many months ago I'm ashamed to say) and we still have a garage full of unpacked boxes. Granted, some of them have been in storage of one kind or another for up to three years. My desk is a hideous mess, and I have at least 3 or 4 boxes of “current papers” – at least, that's what I labeled them as. Now that's interesting. I just took the political compass test I stumbled over in another lj'ers journal. I wound up with an Economic Left/Right: 3.06 and Authoritarian/Libertarian: -2.04. That puts me in the libertarian camp, but not nearly as firmly as I had expected. It's probably because I didn't do as many “strongly” agrees or disagrees; and also because I was uncomfortable with the wording on some of the questions. First cookies, now meatloaf. Dunno what put me in such a domestic mood, but hopefully it's over now. Now I'm just going to go curl up w/ a book and read.

Ok so for some reason I got the urge to make cookies. Chocolate chip cookies. I make GOOD chocolate chip cookies. :) It's fun at first but by the time they're all baked I'm SICK OF THEM!!!! I think that's for the best.

I'm really digging this winamp/livejournal connection. I loaded up *every* mp3 I've got (all 891 of 'em) and hit randomize. [snicker] That'll take a while to listen to. It's definitely an… interesting… mix.
