Had a wonderful day today. We picked up a table lamp that is exactly like the lamp we got three years ago – or was it four? I can't remember if we got it for our wedding, or if we bought it when we moved to the house, or what. Anyhow, I've been using it beside the bed, and now we have one just like it for
I got two new cd's today – Steve Miller Band Young Hearts, and a 2-cd collection, The Celtic Circle. Got 'em fairly reasonable at a Sam Goody's out-of-business sale. They didn't have (or I couldn't find it anyway) Ace of Base Signs. Damn, may actually have to order the dang thing. It was lost when a co-worker borrowed it to test a cd-drive and forgot to remove it when she sent the computer back to the user. Sigh – that was one of my favorites, and it was given to me by a very good friend. Ah well, I'll get another copy one of these days.
Then we went to Blockbuster and rented Finding Nemo, A Tailor in Panama, Nightmare Before Christmas, and rented two PS2 games. Sims for me because I want to see if I like it better on the Playstation, and Prince of Persia for
Home for a marvelous lunch of grilled cheese sandwiches (cooked on my new electric grill/griddle, thankyouverymuch!) and tomato soup. Mmmmmm. Well, at least I had the tomato soup –
We are ready, ready, ready for Tday and Giftmas. His parents are coming for Tday, and the house is presentable. I'd go so far as to say it looks good – at least it makes me smile to be in it. Still have two rooms that need serious work, but they don't have to be finished this week. No more Giftmas shopping to do, either – thank goodness. We are such recluses. All we want is a comfy home, a high-speed internet connection, and people we choose to associate with. I think we need a moat.
I think there's something wrong with my cd player on my computer. It's acting wonky. No, I can't define exactly what “wonky” means in this case, but it's just not right. It is about time to rebuild anyway.
After we feed the brats, dinner for us will be Jen's shake & bake (must be a trademark infringement there somewhere) chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans.
Sounds like a lovely day
Great luck on the lamp!
You’ll have to tell me what you think of The Tailor of Panama. I found it to be a strange little movie. Actually I found Geoffrey Rush’s character to be a bit annoying in it.
