Day 108 – Gold Star Day!

Yesterday we had the carpets cleaned and the only appointment I could get was during my meeting time! So weigh in was today and I'm definitely pleased: 270.8 – down 1.6 pounds for a total of twenty-one!

So my plan for the week is hitting my points target every day except T-day. Tomorrow I'll eat damn well what I want, thank you, but I'll record and count it all. I'll be aware of portion sizes and not go crazy, but I'll allow myself to have that second serving of mashed potatoes and gravy if I want it. There's also an 11 point (egads) piece of Cheesecake Factory chocolate torte that I will eat and enjoy every bite! The rest of the week, back to target and no overage. I anticipate at worst maintaining, as I really doubt that I will eat as much as I would have last Tday.

That 10% goal is within sight!

  1. YAY!
years ago when i lost weight i was a part of a group called TOPS (take off pounds sensibly)
    our weigh in was thursdays
so on thursdays after the meeting we all used to go out for a nice big meal
that would help satisify any cravings we had and then we all found it easier to stay on the diet with the carrot of thursday dangling in front of us
it is ok to stray once in a while
it is usually the brain that is craving and not the stomache, so if we can trick the brain by giving it something good, in moderation, they it is much easier
i lost a total of 90 pounds to go from 250 to 160
i have remained around 160 for nearly 11 years now
i know how hard it is
    but you are doing great
just thought i would say hi
    and
    YAY JENN !!!

    1. Yeah, I think you’re right about that “carrot” thing. Plus, eating more one day reminds your body that you’re not really going to starve, honest. :)
Congrats on your weight loss!! I hope to do as well!! :)

  2. I’ve been meaning to tell you how proud reading about your progress makes me feel. It’s inspiring, too.
Weight Watchers (outside of total starvation and Jenny Craig) is the only thing that has ever worked for me.
Are you going to meetings? I always hated that part…

    1. Thank you! This is the first time I’ve tried this that it didn’t feel like a life-sucking ordeal. It’s no big thing, and I truly can eat anything I want. Huh – portion sizes. Who knew? LOL Apparently, I’m actually ready this time.
Strangely enough, the meetings don’t annoy me too much. I think for me the mandatory weigh-in is important. I didn’t like the first meeting I went to, so I switched. The second one I tried isn’t bad. My only gripe is that the only 50+ group around here meets about 25 miles north of me at 8:00 am on Saturday. I can tell you right now that that ain’t happening.
They have a WW online thing too now – you don’t have to go to meetings. The stuff you get with that is pretty cool.
      Happy Turkeyday! :)

      1. ….I just joined the online WW.
On Thanksgiving, I noticed how much weight my sister had lost – 22 pounds! She’s been on WW for about 12 weeks, and I had no idea. I’m so proud of her – she has been so unhappy and so uncomfortable for so long. You and she have both inspired me.
I signed up for the online WW this afternoon.
        Wish me luck!
