Planned Parenthood and Stuffs

So, there’s only 8 more days to submit comments on the regulation that will allow providers to withhold critical health care information. After that it goes into effect. naamah_darling is far more articulate than I – she goes into great detail in several posts here.

Planned Parenthood

This is the rule that will go into effect if we do not act to stop it. Eight days.

Go.

Comment.

Give money to Planned Parenthood.

And if you want some amusement value for your buck, donate it in Sarah Palin’s name. I did. I giggled madly while doing so.

The smallest donation is $5: The cost: priceless.

Make a donation to Planned Parenthood in Sarah Palin’s name. When you make a donation to PP (secure site) in her name, they’ll send her a card stating the donation was made in her honor. (Not that I’m into avian homicide, but this is like killing two birds w/ one stone: it financially supports beleaguered PP and protests the threat to female rights by one of our own.)

Here’s the link to Planned Parenthood’s website:

http://www.plannedparenthood.org

Open ‘Donate’. Click ‘Honorary or Memorial Donations’. Fill in your info and donation, then scroll down to ‘I would like to give to’: fill in ‘Sarah Palin’ and use the McCain campaign headquarters address:

1235 S. Clark Street
1st Floor
Arlington, VA 22202

Please consider forwarding this to others, and urge them to do the same.

  1. I’ll do it to my local chapter*, but I’ll do in in Bristol Palin’s name.
*After years of donating to national PP — women’s reproductive issues are as close as I get to being a single-issue voter — I stopped after they endorsed Joe Fucking Lieberman, who said some horrible things about hospitals’ obligation to help rape victims. But the local PP is a good and needed outfit.

      <snork> Yeah, suggested that too.
I hear you on the local chapter thing – I usually choose locally too, but this time I chose “where need is greatest”. I hope my whole donation goes to fight this department of health thing.

  2. the donation in palins name is a great idea!

  3. Letter has been written.
Honestly – I don’t care if someone’s Pro-Life or Pro-Choice. The idea that women are stupid little kids who are incapable of deciding what kind of healthcare they receive is RIDICULOUS. This sort of law won’t just effect abortions – it’ll effect other opt-in healthcare such as sterilization – which is already vastly difficult to obtain in a world where doctors think every woman is going to ‘change her mind’.

    • EXACTLY!!
Even contraception is at risk from this regulation.

    • Everyone should have the right to think what they want. And to treat their own body the way they want. So if someone’s anti-abortion, I think in that case they shouldn’t have one. But also not to impose their views on the others.
The “you’ll change your mind” seems to be unfortunately around the world… and never the other way around. So never to the ones that make a mistake and are going to keep it. And never to the teenagers etc etc.
It’s sad to see where are trying to get it all go to… abortion = bad, birth control = bad, sterilization = oh noes… what is there left for those that do want to keep the full bodily autonomy of their own? Abstinence..? Effective as we see in the case of Palin jr. …
