There&apos;s a long, narrow window right next to our front door.  Jake will lie on the tile and look out the window.  (That&apos;s not the smart part.)  Now, if you go in our front door, there&apos;s a staircase a few feet and to the left.  To get to our bedroom, you&apos;d go upstairs, then left again down a very short hallway.  In the bedroom is a huge floor to ceiling window, facing the same way as the front door.  We leave the blinds partway up usually, mainly for the cats.<\/p>\n<p>Back to the dog:  So he&apos;ll see something outside through the front narrow window (which isn&apos;t covered, damn it) and he&apos;ll <i>race<\/i> upstairs to look out the big window in the bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>To me, that seems to show a sophisticated spatial awareness.
