I treated myself to a salon hair cut and color – I went with a warm darker brown this time, and splurged with a streak of purple. It turned out fantastic – makes me smile every time I see it. Unfortunately, it faded within a week<\/i>. I was pretty disappointed about that, and I went back to have it re-done. This one's lasted longer, probably because the purple was left on a lot<\/i> longer. I went into a Sally's supply place, but the whole array of bleaches and brushes and colors and intensifiers and glah – I probably can't really do this on my own, but I'm sure not going to pay for it every few weeks. So, since I only get my hair colored professionally maybe twice a year anyway, I figure I can get the purple splash every once in a while. I'm hopeless when it comes to girly crap.<\/p>\n

I compose posts (about nothing in particular, really) in my head, but they never make it to the computer. You'd think between Sally (my mp3 player that will voice record), my Palm, my work pc, or even actual paper I'd be able to jot something down. But no, it's all in my head and I always get dist… ooh, look, shiny! So now, it's 11pm, I feel human again (the flu SUCKS this year) and though I really should be in bed now I'll do this post. My birthday was fantastic. My mother-in-law made a really cute music jewelry box thing for me. She's pretty talented with the whole painting thing. It's purple, with gorgeous flowers painted on it. I also scored this great Dr. Seuss book and the Indiana Jones dvd collection. Under the cut are a couple of pictures – the only halfway decent one that shows my purple streak (and it doesn't do it or my haircut justice at all) and one of Rob's new do. He never smiles for pictures, the gooberhead! So I jump up and down like an idiot to make him laugh, and try to steady the camera down and get the shot before he quits smiling and\/or turns away. Some pretty funny pictures result from this tactic.
