Of course,  drivers here are idiots under the best of conditions.<\/p>\n<p>We decided to stay at work until at least 6:30, then see if traffic looked ok.  It did, so we left.  A half mile or so from the office, we&apos;re at a light and I&apos;m looking ahead at the wet road, and many many red tail lights, and the rain still coming down a bit, and I&apos;m feeling uneasy.<\/p>\n<p>My wreck in Dallas was over a year ago &#8211; and I still get the willies in the rain.<\/p>\n<p>So I&apos;m feeling a little anxiety and I ask <lj user=\"sqlrob\"> if he&apos;d mind if we just stopped at Chili&apos;s (on that corner), had dinner, and waited a while.  A yummy dinner (mmmm ribs) and bit over an hour later we head out again.  Sun&apos;s out, it&apos;s not raining, road&apos;s starting to dry out &#8211; and a few miles down the road traffic is <i>way<\/i> backed up.  We see that another mile or so down, the traffic light is flashing red &#8211; joy.  Oh well, it&apos;s slow, but no one is being too stupid.<\/p>\n<p>It takes forever though, and then an ambulance comes through &#8211; and two firetrucks come through the other way.  We funnel onto the shoulder and creep by &#8211; there&apos;s a minivan slaunchwise across the lanes &#8211; on its roof.<\/p>\n<p>Eep.<\/p>\n<p>We could&apos;ve been near that.  We could&apos;ve been <i>in<\/i> that.  Time for another anxiety attack.<\/p>\n<p>On a lighter note &#8211; this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.damnthe.com\/dildo\/dildo.html\">video<\/a> is extremely funny.
