So far I&apos;ve lost at a rate of about 1.6 lbs per week.  I&apos;d <i>like<\/i> to lose faster, but I&apos;m just delighted that I&apos;m losing at all.  Especially considering the somewhat halfassed way I&apos;ve been doing this.<\/p>\n<p>Portion sizes:  I&apos;m doing pretty well on this part.  The times I have larger portion sizes, I&apos;m aware of it and I count it.  I&apos;ve found that reasonable portion sizes really aren&apos;t that bad at all!  I used to always get a foot long sub at Subway &#8211; now, I get the six inch, and it truly is enough.  Tuesday after the WW meeting is my Subway day.  Five points and so yummy.<\/p>\n<p>Water:  I need to get more consistent about water intake.  Half the time I&apos;m fine, the other half I forget to drink water at all.  I think if I get more consistent about drinking <i>all<\/i> the water I&apos;ll see better results.<\/p>\n<p>Exercise:  Ahem.  Next?<\/p>\n<p>Vegetables:  I need to eat more.  My favorites, natch, are the starchy ones:  potatoes and corn.  But I&apos;ve been eating green beans with dinner for the most part.  I&apos;m really picky about vegetables, unfortunately.<\/p>\n<p>Fruit:  I need to eat more.  Why I don&apos;t, I really don&apos;t know.  It&apos;s not that I don&apos;t <i>like<\/i> fruit, I just don&apos;t seem to ever eat any!<\/p>\n<p>Milk:  I&apos;m actually drinking at least 1 glass a day, and even 2!  This is <i>very<\/i> new for me, as I don&apos;t really like milk.  I&apos;m finding that I don&apos;t mind it so much these days.  I don&apos;t know if that&apos;s a function of tastes changing, or that I&apos;m actually determined about this whole weight loss thing.<\/p>\n<p>Bubbly sugar water:  I&apos;ve only had about 3 or 4 real sodas these past 37 days, and I&apos;ve been pretty good about not drinking diet soda (Pepsi One) like water.  I&apos;d like to drink water like, er, water.<\/p>\n<p>Challenges:  Aside from the whole more water\/more veggies &#038; fruit\/less carbs deal, my biggest challenge is eating my target point value, and eating throughout the day rather than not eating until 2 pm or so.<\/p>\n<p>Goals:  I have two goals right now &#8211; my first 10% which I expect to hit in January, and I will lose 15 pounds by Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p><font size=\"-2\">(crossposted to my weightloss journal and <lj comm=\"dietingsupport\">)<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Weigh in today was 283, which is down 1 pound for the week, and 8.8 pounds total.
