We picked up a table lamp that is <i>exactly<\/i> like the lamp we got three years ago &#8211; or was it four?  I can&apos;t remember if we got it for our wedding, or if we bought it when we moved to the house, or what.  Anyhow, I&apos;ve been using it beside the bed, and now we have one <i>just like it<\/i> for <lj user=\"sqlrob\">&apos;s side of the bed.  It really looks a <i>lot<\/i> different.<\/p>\n<p>I got two new cd&apos;s today &#8211; Steve Miller Band Young Hearts, and a 2-cd collection, The Celtic Circle.  Got &apos;em fairly reasonable at a Sam Goody&apos;s out-of-business sale.  They didn&apos;t have (or I couldn&apos;t find it anyway) Ace of Base Signs.  Damn, may actually have to order the dang thing.  It was lost when a co-worker borrowed it to test a cd-drive and forgot to remove it when she sent the computer back to the user.  Sigh &#8211; that was one of my favorites, and it was given to me by a very good friend.  Ah well, I&apos;ll get another copy one of these days.<\/p>\n<p>Then we went to Blockbuster and rented <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/title\/tt0266543\/\">Finding Nemo<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/title\/tt0236784\/\">A Tailor in Panama<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/title\/tt0107688\/\">Nightmare Before Christmas<\/a>, and rented two PS2 games.  Sims for me because I want to see if I like it better on the Playstation, and Prince of Persia for <lj user=\"sqlrob\">.<\/p>\n<p>Home for a marvelous lunch of grilled cheese sandwiches (cooked on my new electric grill\/griddle, thankyouverymuch!) and tomato soup.  Mmmmmm.  Well, at least <i>I<\/i> had the tomato soup &#8211; <lj user=\"sqlrob\"> doesn&apos;t like it.  Watched Finding Nemo after that, and now he&apos;s playing his game and I&apos;m here!<\/p>\n<p>We are ready, ready, ready for Tday and Giftmas.  His parents are coming for Tday, and the house is presentable.  I&apos;d go so far as to say it looks good &#8211; at least it makes me smile to be in it.  Still have two rooms that need serious work, but they don&apos;t have to be finished this week.  No more Giftmas shopping to do, either &#8211; thank goodness.  We are such recluses.  All we want is a comfy home, a high-speed internet connection, and people we choose to associate with.   I think we need a moat.<\/p>\n<p>I think there&apos;s something wrong with my cd player on my computer.  It&apos;s acting wonky.  No, I can&apos;t define exactly what &#8220;wonky&#8221; means in this case, but it&apos;s just not right.  It is about time to rebuild anyway.  <lj user=\"sqlrob\"> has been nagging me to switch to some flavour of linux for ages now &#8211; maybe I should try it.  I think I&apos;d <i>have<\/i> to do a dual boot though, because I just can&apos;t abandon some of my software &#8211; games mainly.  Not that I even play them very much.  Bleh.  I hate computers.<\/p>\n<p>After we feed the brats, dinner for us will be Jen&apos;s shake &#038; bake (must be a trademark infringement there somewhere) chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Had a wonderful day today.
