A web search that I shoulda done more thoroughly BEFORE signing up with these jokers shows that names4ever IS Aplus.net and they SUCK. The hard drive, that is. Apparently BOTH of them. Not only that, but apparently my NT server's processor has issues – the damn chip fan won't stay on. Which may explain how flaky it's been. I'm using yet another computer to make this post (my husbands). My computer would not boot with its own hard drives. Won't detect at all. It did boot up with the NT hard drive, though it bitched mightily about the hardware. So I think the motherboard/IDE controllers are ok. The players: a P233 (just a P, no II no III) w/ a 2.5 GB boot…
The motherboard manual that came with my computer when I bought it in March of 2000 is NOT the one for the motherboard that's actually IN the computer. Lovely, Quantex. No wonder y'all went out of business. Luckily, I've had no problems with my computer, up until now. Back to ripping my baby apart…
<sobbing>My computer is dead. I don't know if my hard drives (both???) are fried or if it's the motherboard or what. I'm on my old 233 right now, which is pretending to be an NT domain controller. And it's acting funky too!</sobbing> This is bad. This is very, very bad. :(
Looks like this company, which prides itself on its internet acumen is completely clueless over what the internet means.
