Book Quote of the Day
Prompted by a discussion in this post, I decided to post the Scary Passage Of the Year here: All those women having jobs: hard to imagine, now, but thousands of them had jobs, millions. It was considered the normal thing. Now it's like remembering the paper money, when they still had that. My mother kept some of it, pasted into her scrapbook along with the early photos. It was obsolete by then, you couldn't buy anything with it. Pieces of paper, thickish, greasy to the touch, green-colored, with pictures on each side, some old man in a wig and on…

I almost feel as if I'm accomplishing something! Here's what I'm in the midst of: digging through the papers on my desk, shredding and filing trying to set up gnucash to get a handle on money finding all recent car receipts to get my car minder back up to date paying bills working on taxes So, of course I need to make a post about the books in my To Be Read stack! Day 219
Ugh. Another small gain – 1.8 pounds. Apparently I'm determined to lose the same 4 pounds over and over and over again. I've lost a mere eight pounds in thirteen weeks. Again, I'm not surprised. I know exactly what I am and am not doing correctly. Apparently I'm doing this whole WW thing in the same half-assed way I do everything else. Blah. So, color me thoroughly pissed off at myself today. Note: This too, shall pass. Sigh. :-/

Reading…
17 – A Crown of Swords (The Wheel of Time, Book 7) – Robert Jordan (finished 03/02/2004) 18 – The Path of Daggers (The Wheel of Time, Book 8) – Robert Jordan (finished 03/05/2004) 19 – Winter's Heart (The Wheel of Time, Book 9) – Robert Jordan (finished 03/09/2004) 20 – Crossroads of Twilight (Wheel of Time, Book 10) – Robert Jordan (finished 03/15/2004) Nothing to say about these really – You either love 'em or hate 'em. For me, they've stood up and are still worth reading (and re-reading). I am, however, looking forward to the end of the…

I have discovered something: Tomato soup, made with water, is nasty. Never again shall I make it without milk.
