I want these. Nay… I need these, and I cannot find them. Terry's Chocolate Orange Mini Segments? 250g – Individually wrapped delicious segments of Terry's Milk Chocolate Orange?. I can find them on Kraft's UK site. I can find them on Kraft's AU site. I cannot find them on Kraft's US site, nor have I yet been able to find an online source for them. The store I've bought them from before discontinued them and I haven't found them anywhere I've looked locally. (I bought the last 3 boxes at a lovely price though!) Oooh. New sig for my ever expanding .sig file….
“We may congratulate ourselves that this cruel war is nearing its end. It has cost a vast amount of treasure and blood. . . .It has indeed been a trying hour for the Republic; but I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until…

Contrariness…
I'm cleaning up my hard drive in preparation to backing it up, in preparation to rebuilding the damn thing. I came across a file that I almost deleted. This file explains things that can be done with items your average farmer uses frequently. I saved this particular file because, while I have no need of the information in it, there are those in power who would label me with the “T” word, perhaps even jail me for merely possessing it. The fact that I'm even a little concerned about that tells me that the concept of thoughtcrime is insidiously creeping…

Weekend
Had a good, lazy weekend. We went to the dog park yesterday to let Jake run around like a fool. I managed to trip over a rock and fall on the way in though. :-/ I hate falling – it's embarassing. At least this time I didn't get hurt much. My elbow is scraped and pretty sore, and today my upper arm is sore, but that's about it. Other than that, the dog park was pretty fun. I didn't get very many pictures, but they're here if you wanna see. The kitten was being a little shit last night. He's…

Thought for the evening.
“I have examined all the known superstitions of the word, and I do not find in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology. Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this coercion? To make one half of the world fools and the other half hypocrites; to support roguery and error all over the earth.” – Thomas Jefferson In other news: MS Windows update broke my 2K laptop. So, I'm attempting an XP…

Words, words, words…
Currently in my reading pile are the following books: The Return of the King – J.R.R Tolkien Kate Remembered – A. Scott Berg Uppity Women of Medieval Times – Vicki Leon The Ultimate Dragon – various sci-fi/fantasy authors The Silmarillion – J.R.R. Tolkien I don't know if I'm really going to make it through that last. I'd never managed to read any Tolkien until FOTR came out. I'd tried the Hobbit before, but never got through it. Since the movies came out, I've read Fellowship, Two Towers, and the Hobbit. I only got halfway through ROTK before, so now I'm…

Sliding, sliding, sliding….
One FBI internal newsletter encouraged FBI agents to conduct more interviews with antiwar activists “for plenty of reasons, chief of which it will enhance the paranoia endemic in such circles and will further service to get the point across that there is an FBI agent behind every mailbox.” The FBI took a shotgun approach toward protesters partly because of the FBI's “belief that dissident speech and association should be prevented because they were incipient steps toward the possible ultimate commission of act which might be criminal,” according to a Senate report. Jefferson must be getting dizzy. “A Bill of Rights…
