I switched to Opera, because it's much more neatokeen than IE. And somehow, Netscape doesn't do it for me anymore, and I don't like Mozilla much.

I like the control I have over Opera, and I like the way all browser windows are in one taskbar thingy.

But I have a serious problem that may drive me back to IE (which will force me to use cookiewall and popupkiller, which uses up my dwindling resources).

My mouse, that I adore, has all sorts of buttons. One is assigned to “back” and another to “forward”. It works fine in my news/email program, and in IE and Netscape. In Opera, clicking the back (or forward) button on the mouse causes the browser to go back (or forward) TWO pages instead of one. This is really, really, really, really, really, really annoying.

I've updated the mouse drivers. I can't think of anything else to do. Any ideas?

I actually have this mouse here. I had the model you have now, but tried the one I linked… MUCH better feel to it – barely have to take my hand off the little guy. Anyway, go into where you configure your mouse. There should be a tab that controls how many lines you scroll with one touch. Move it up or down accordingly, (up=scroll more lines/pages, down=fewer lines/pages at once)maybe that will do the trick for you.

Actually, it wasn’t the scrolling. You can set the 3rd and 4th buttons to “back” and “forward” which works in a lot of programs.
Turned out that it was a bug in Opera 6.01 – so I went back to 6.0 for now. :)
Cool mouse though – do you use your fingers or thumb for the track ball? I really like mine. May have to check that one out at a store or something. :)
