The Great T-Shirt Experiment of 2004 is now over!

So for the past 2 months or so, I have not washed any of my t-shirts. I have worn them, and tossed them into a designated laundry hamper. This was an effort to force me to go through my t-shirt drawers and hopefully identify shirts I don't really like or want, as well as to discover t-shirts that I'm able to wear again.

The results? 28 shirts to be donated to goodwill, 2 to be bequeathed to (his drawer, his problem) and 35 to be tucked into one t-shirt drawer.

Also, a boat load of laundry done this weekend.

  1. That’s impressive. I can’t picture owning that many t-shirts – although I’m not game to put this to the test by actually counting how many I do have!

    1. Given my ‘druthers, I’druther wear t-shirts and jeans. ;)
Still – that was a tad excessive. I still think I should ditch some, but I really like the ones I have left.

      1. Since I typed that comment, I realised that I am that bad about kit tops. I’d easily have 20. I’d have more, but you only get one or two seasons out of wool knits, no matter how careful you are about it.
I might have 10-15 t-shirts, but then I tend to only wear them around the house or when I’m camping. I’m always in need of tops – I have a really bad habit of splashing food on them when I’m cooking, and that’s often the end of that.

  2. It’s not just me!
I TOO have a t-shirt addiction. I went through them recently and pulled half a drawer full and stuffed them in a spot in my closet – to be determined if I want to wear them as night shirts or if I want to make them into a t-shirt quilt or something. I need to go through my socks too. I have over 100 pair easy. :D
