OK. So like, I've been “playing” Yourself!Fitness for two weeks now – which is 10 workouts. I love this thing! Maya is great – she looks and moves pretty good which makes it fairly easy to follow along even for a klutz like me. Her voice is really nice too – soothing and encouraging, not shrill and grating like the Texas women at my WW meetings.
Every so often during the workout she asks how you're doing, and you tell her that you can't keep up, are working hard, or no sweat. She then adjusts the pace and difficulty. She'll incorporate exercise equipment, like hand weights, a step, etc. I confess, we just went out and bought a set of hand weights. I may even get a step in a month or two.
Then, every 10 workouts she puts you through the original physical challenge. I'm pleased to say that my heart rate on jumping jacks was a bit better, and I did more pushups (ok, they're the girly ones), squats, and crunches than I did just two weeks ago. The really interesting part is I'm still motivated to do it – usually I've quit by now.
If you're a couch potato, and/or the word “exercise” gives you hives – this is the workout for you.
Oh yeah – I lost 2.4 pounds this week. I really, really, really, really hope this is the nudge I needed to break this stupid apathy and plateau.
Wow. This game sounds great. I don’t have an x-box!!! wah!!!!!
It is really good. MUCH better than videos. I’ve never been able to do a video more than once or twice – and I’m still excited about using this thing. If excited is the word of course – I mean, it is “exercise”. :::shudder:::
The Y!F forums say that there is a PC game, supposedly out in November, and they’re working on a PS2 version, which will (again, supposedly) be out in January.
Get an Xbox. You know you want to!! :::giggles:::
I’ll just wait till it hopefully comes out for ps2 since I am a mac chick.
