I did it!!
I was able to give my demon-child Kamir 100cc of LRS subcutaneously.
This is an accomplishment because I don't like needles much, and the thought of shoving a needle through my cat's skin is… icky. Also Kamir is difficult at best. Very unpredictable, and he's gotten worse in his old age. I've gotten to the point when I tell people that visit, “Don't touch the big Siamese. No, really. Don't touch him. Even if he acts like he wants you to pet him, don't touch him.”
He struggled and squalled, and neither Rob nor I was bitten. We'll see what happens when I try it again tomorrow.
Now I need a job just to support my vet bills.
