This morning we slept in, then discovered that Circuit City had a bunch of games selling for $4.99 each – unmarked. Instead of vegetating at home, this prompted us to grab a couple of quick showers and head out. We picked up a handful of games for $35 – sticker price was close to $200. Giddy with gamer goodness, we gallivanted over to Blockbuster to pick up the next Star Trek. We're working our way through the series; tonight's event was Insurrection. Then a quick lunch at Subway, picked up a few groceries and back home, safe and sound.
The dog officially hates the festivities of the fourth. We tried drugging him, but it hasn't seemed to do much good. He's somewhat groggy, but still upset. The cats don't seem to care. Well, Max was slightly puffy after a whistling firework, but other than that they're indifferent. I went outside at one point to see what was going on in our neighborhood; there were a bunch of people setting stuff off. The smell outside reminded me of my childhood pyromaniac days. I only wish I'd have picked up some bangsite for my cannon
Dinner was a delicious grilled steak, with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. I was disappointed in the corn – I'm not sure if I cooked it wrong, or it wasn't very good to begin with. It was the first time I'd tried it on the grill – I slathered garlic butter on them, wrapped them in foil and put them on the grill. Maybe I left them on too long?
Anyway, after a few episodes of Family Guy and the Star Trek movie it's time for bed. 'Night all!
