Well, my laptop is back! After a whole week without her, I’d almost completely forgotten how to use her. But, it’s all coming back now. I’m posting this with MarsEdit – I’m not sure if I completely like it. It’s really more for posting links from other programs. I think. Gaz is home, all is well. She had her logic board replaced. I’m late. Gots to get to work – we’re moving labs today. Oh joy. :) Currently playing in iTunes: fake wings by Emily Bindiger

GAH! Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed.
So this morning, as usual, I have eggos for breakfast. With peanut butter & jelly. Yum. I also throw a frozen meal thingy in my bag for lunch. We leave the house by 9:00 am. ::: time passes ::: We get home tonight around 7:30 pm as usual – and as I walk in the house I hear this strange humming/rattling noise. I follow my ears into the kitchen, and it’s the fridge making the racket! WTF, says I, and notice that the freezer door is partially open. Oh. Crap. Yeah, lost most everything in the freezer; there’s ice and…

But I think I was just cursed by my dinner tonight. We stopped at Ocean China on the way home from work tonight. Sesame chicken, yum. Here’s my fortune:

Update… or where the *bleep* has Jen been??
Busy! Just… busy. There’s one minor drawback to working with one’s spouse and/or housemate, and having only one car: when one half wants to/needs to work late, the other is required to stay as well. Of course, both of us have plenty to do so it’s not really a big deal. Anyway, we’ve been getting home late practically every night, either due to work or running necessary errands. Besides that, we’ve been watching dvds, playing video games, and reading. Good news is I can read LJ at work, but I’m usually too busy to do more than skim a few…

Ok. Posts need to be made. Don't say I didn't warn you.
First off, fluff. This interest meme going around is definitely one of the better ones. It’s interesting that “cats” are universal, where “dogs” are merely popular. Wow, we’ve just been really busy lately! The new job at one week in is actually pretty dang cool. The brain is actually being used, and it’s even kinda fun. Did I mention it’s not tech support? Monday night we went to a book signing at Bookpeople – Neal Stephenson. He’s such a fascinating person! Next up on my book list, once I get through the current stack, is going to be his Baroque Cycle. This weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) is Linucon!! We’ve plotted out the panel/seminar thingies we’re going to, and I really can’t wait. It should be…

I'm not entirely sure I approve…
… of this thing called “work”. I’m woefully behind on my LJ reading, dammit!! Funny thing is, I can LJ at work, I just didn’t have the time. As it was my first day, this may not bode well at all… :::snicker::: It was pretty good though. Could be interesting at least. And it isn’t tech support. That in itself is a Good Thing ™.

Will she or won't she?
Keep an eye on St. Helens! (live web cam) I’ve got a soft spot for the old girl. She was beautiful before she lost her top, and she provided quite a bit of excitement when I was a kid. (A June eruption, viewed from our roof)
