    Whoa… I'm seeing red!

Let’s just say that “Ginger Spice” is just a tad brighter than I expected… better living through chemicals, eh? In other news, I’ve been working on my site photo gallery. I was going to use Gallery, but I’ve been too lazy to install it. But yesterday I discovered that GoDaddy added a photo gallery (among other goodies) to hosting accounts. Whee! Setup was extremely painless, and I’ve already got my whole webshots album moved over. Still working on some captioning, but eh, that’s no problem. Next up is to move my old icky photo album into the new shiny one.…

I do believe in fairies, I do! I do!

I’m having a very nice, quiet weekend with sqlrob. Sleeping in, minor household chores, video games (Simpson’s Hit & Run), and movies. Last night we watched Peter Pan. I liked it a lot – definitely a lot darker than Disney’s version. Jason Issacs was very yummy both as Dad and as the nefarious Hook. Honesty demands that I admit I cried when Tinkerbell was dying. <grin> Today we watched From Hell, a movie based on Jack the Ripper. That was a good movie. It wasn’t as gory as I’d feared, and the mystery draws you in. Fascinating flick, with a…

    Well that's… interesting.

I think I just had a full blown anxiety attack or something. Today’s Tuesday; I’m supposed to go to my WW meeting, so I go with Rob to work and keep the car for the day. Last week was the first time we did this; today’s the second. This morning it started pouring before we left the house. I’ve never driven the Camaro in the rain, and Rob says it can be squirrelly. Actually, I haven’t driven the Camaro much at all. No real reason, it’s just that I usually drive, and my car is was more comfortable and practical.…

    Now that's a bright idea…

Prison guards forbidden to wear protective gear EDMONTON — Corrections Canada won’t let guards at maximum security prisons wear stab-proof vests because it sends a confrontational “signal” to prisoners. “If you have that kind of presence symbolized by (a stab-proof vest), you’re sending a signal to the prisoner that you consider him to be a dangerous person,” said Tim Krause. “It interferes with what we call ‘dynamic security.’ We want staff to talk to prisoners, to see how they’re doing.” Last month, Sun Media reported a guard at the Edmonton Institution was threatened with disciplinary action several times by prison…
