    Tuesday weigh in!

    Well, I lost another pound this week. Yay! I'd be happier if it wasn't the same pound (or five) that I've been losing and gaining for the last three months, but eh. For some reason though, I feel more on track than I was. Maybe because I'm making an effort to walk the dog and husband almost every night. Maybe because I've started tracking what I eat at CalorieKing. We'll see how it goes. I'm thinking about quitting Weight Watchers though. NOT quitting losing weight – never! – but the meetings are starting to really annoy me. It's partly the…

    Actor meme

    Respond to these movie stars' names with the title of the movie of theirs that you liked most. Tom Hanks – Toy Story. If voice roles don't count, then Cast Away Jim Carrey – The Mask Tobey Maguire – Spiderman Mel Gibson – Ideological differences aside, I love Mel Gibson. Favorites I'd have to say are Mad Max (Road Warrior) and Braveheart Ben Affleck – Definitely has to be Paycheck. Nicole Kidman – Batman Forever. I'd say Eyes Wide Shut, but I still don't know if I liked that movie or not. It was fascinating. Liv Tyler – LOTR (all…

    Happiness is…

    … getting a storage rack for video games so as to get the entertainment center cabinet cleared out for the console(s) when we decide to finally get it/them. … Costco frozen yogurt. … watching giggle over his Benny Hill DVD. … discovering that the Cinnabon Strawberry minibun that I was completely and utterly unable to resist was only 5 points. … watching my youngest cat (he's not a kitten anymore!) throw himself at the dog, purring like a fiend. … snuggling in bed w/ a book and – which is next up on the agenda. 'Night. :)

    Slowly but surely…

    So we clocked the distance from the house to Blockbuster/HEB/Subway tonight – it's about 1.2 miles one way. That's awesome because it means I walked 2 miles on Thursday! Perhaps I'll try it again this week, but only if it's not horribly hot/humid. This week I've managed to eat breakfast and also go on 15-30 minute walks more often than not. Jake is certainly happy about the latter. In other news, I picked up a 4 cd-pack of “Kings of Swing” – Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, Louis Armstrong, Glen Miller and more! Yum!

    Austin, Texas. Linucon. Oh. My. God. but it looks like it will be fantastic. Linux. Sci Fi. Gaming. Steve Jackson. Eric Raymond. Wil Wheaton. Eric Flint (Baen Free Library). I'm so pumped for this I don't think I can stand it. and I are definitely both going. :)

    My arms are too short!!

    Too short to pat myself on the back, that is. I am feeling relatively pleased with myself at the moment. and I have been trying to go for nightly walks lately. I need it, he needs it, the dog needs it. We've been doing fairly well with it, working up to going every night. So today is a beautiful day, sunny and breezy, and not cripplingly humid (I miss Arizona). I decided that I could, and damn well would walk down to the Blockbuster to return/get movies and have lunch at Subway. Sure enough, I can do that, and it…

    :::THUD:::

    The sound you heard was me falling off of the “let's post every day” wagon. I think I bounced. Item the first: This is the first post made with Deepest Sender, a Mozilla plugin for LiveJournal. So far it's pretty cool. I even figured out how to make it detect music through XMMS. [edit before even posting: Oh, NO it's not. Dang. It did some serious damage to its own generated code. No thanks, I'll make my own. Back to LogJam I go! After I fix it. Yick.] Item the second: I am having a hella good time playing Kingdom…
