    Here, fishy, fish fish!

Heee! I got a new thingy today! For a while now, I've toyed with the idea of getting a fish tank. I kinda sorta wanted a 10 gallon, but I'm not really sure where I'd put it. I didn't want just a goldfish bowl, I don't really think a small bowl is fair to the fish. I wound up getting a 2 gallon tank, which will have a single male betta fish that I'll get next week. I'd like to toss in some neon tetras too, but I don't think they'd be happy in an unheated tank, plus it's probably…

Good thing he doesn't have opposable thumbs…

Because he’d open the pantry door, get out the popcorn, and nuke it himself! Damn cat (Max) has figured out what the popping noises coming from the microwave mean. He’s a popcorn freak and now stands leaning on the cabinet yowling at the microwave until it’s done. Gerroff dammit, it’s my popcorn!

    Stuff…

    1. Which 5 LJ friends have you known longest? – 1994 – met in the ol Newsroom on AOL; been hanging out on mailing lists ever since. Definitely one I'd like to meet in RL someday. – 1997 – possibly. “Met” him online through an ex-bf and Usenet. I believe I virtually (through netmeeting) attended a party of his, but it could have been Nick's instead. Also high up on my “want to meet in RL” list. – 1998 – met through the Usenet newsgroup dfw.singles. The group held frequent GTGs and we hooked up at one at 's house…

    Little tip…

Ever open up someone's LJ or comment and your eyes just start to bleed because the colors or design is so annoying? Just tack on “?style=mine” to the url – it'll look like your journal looks. Oh, if there's already a question mark in the url, make it “&style=mine” – no quotes, of course. /me has been looking at way too many journals with painful “styles”.

    Day 156 – 10%! Keychain time – woohoo!

Weigh in time: Starting weight: 291.8 lbs Last week: 263.0 lbs This week: 260.8 lbs Loss this week: 2.2 lbs Total loss: 31.0 lbs Loss rate: 1.39 lbs/week So now I've dropped (more than) 10% of my original bodyweight. I haven't (yet) begun any “real” (i.e. regular) exercise. What's different? – My (undiagnosed) IBS or whatever is not nearly as frequent or as horrible. I attribute this to the major decrease in grease consumption. – I can walk up two flights of stairs at a normal pace without wheezing and wanting to die. I'm still out of breath, but it's…
