I've spent all day updating my site – now it has a somewhat cohesive look. I still need to think of something spiffy to do with my norules site though. <plug> Politics! Debate! Fun! Join! </plug> I did, however, find out how to do a custom 404 page! Yay! Next is to modify/create some graphics. Also, I want to redo the whole photo album part. Playing with webpages makes me happy. Too bad I can't get paid for it.

Sigh
Update on my Opera tragedy… It's a bug in version 6.01 – which I had just upgraded. So I uninstalled and went back to version 6.0. Too bad, because there were some definite improvements. Oh well, guess I'll wait for the next upgrade! I just know you're all thrilled. What can I say, this is the pinnacle of my day. Lovely.

Whoa.
This is probably the most incredible thing I've ever seen built out of legos, including the lifesize Simpsons characters. The photos are incredible, and the Construction Log is funny.

Whiiiiine
I switched to Opera, because it's much more neatokeen than IE. And somehow, Netscape doesn't do it for me anymore, and I don't like Mozilla much. I like the control I have over Opera, and I like the way all browser windows are in one taskbar thingy. But I have a serious problem that may drive me back to IE (which will force me to use cookiewall and popupkiller, which uses up my dwindling resources). My mouse, that I adore, has all sorts of buttons. One is assigned to “back” and another to “forward”. It works fine in my news/email…

Grrrr
So. The next to last batch of cookies was in, and almost done. I had a nature call, and asked my loving husband to take the cookies out when the timer went off. This he did, and when I returned from communing with nature, I asked him if he started the next batch. “No.” says he. “You didn't turn off the oven, did you?” says I. “Nope, I didn't think you were finished.” “Good! I'll go do the last batch!” The last batch goes in the oven, and I set the timer and toddle off back to the computer. Time…

mmm…. cookies
My husband made a wonderful stir fry from the leftover pork roast – very yummy with a nice kick. So I decided to return the favor and make chocolate chip cookies. Only this time, I made chocolate chocolate chip cookies! I've never tried that before – they're delicious. Last batch is in the oven now. Yum.

March 2002: 5,130 pieces of email sent to my various email addresses. Of those, 1,320 were spam. That's 25.7% unsolicited bulk email folks. 5.4MB of crap. 42.6 pieces of spam per day. “Just hit delete” Yeah. Right. That helps.

Last straw
I've had it with Yahoo. Not only did they force optin all email addresses to a ton of third party spam, but now they've got web bugs all over the place. Of course, they call them “web beacons“. Bah. So I've killed my yahoo addresses, and got a new hotmail address. Not that hotmail's privacy policy is all that much better, but currently Yahoo annoys me far more. Besides, at least I can get hotmail without using the web interface. I'm throwing yahoo in my hosts file, too. Screw 'em. I don't need to hit their servers at all.

Uh oh…
My horoscope today says: Resist all impulses to sit at your computer. If you want to look up a restaurant's phone number, use the phone book instead of YellowPages.com. The same goes for buying movie tickets online. Your eyes need a break from staring at your monitor This could be… difficult. Difficult, hell, damn near impossible! LOL
