Couples Shy Away From 9/11 Wedding Date
Many couples are reluctant to get married on Sept. 11, said Sue Berning, director of catering at Eagle Ridge Inn & Resort in Galena, Ill., three hours west of Chicago.
“I'll say, well, I do have Sept. 11 open, and they say 'Yeah, so does everybody else,'” Berning said. “They don't want to be rejoicing on that day when the country is mourning.”
Pfui. I don't think I'd care. Horrible things happen every single day of the year – what's the difference?
Besides that, according to the article, many places are offering discounts on that day, because no one wants it. I'd be all over that. LOL
My boyfriend’s birthday is 9/11 … and two other people he knows. We’ll be flying to (can’t tell yet) that weekend. Haven’t seen any major discounts though :(
