I just started reading Georgiana : Duchess of Devonshire. I discovered through a web search that the subject of a painting I have is the Duchess of Devonshire, who lived in the late 1700's. It's a chalk drawing that is supposedly over 100 years old. My parents liked this drawing, because they thought it looked a bit like my mother. Anyway, I like it too. I don't know for sure how authentic it is – one of these days I'd like to find out, but I'm not sure how.

Posting in a community, whining about how “creeped out” one is by members of another (somewhat related) community (that, incidentally, one was banned from), and then deleting dissenting comments from that community entry. Bah. Silly LJ Dramaqueens. Deleting comments in a post in one's own journal is one thing; in a post in a community journal is quite another.

Ugh. The neighbors on the corner have been using coffee grounds as fertilizer on their lawn. Dunno if/how well it works, but I sure hope my next door neighbors don't copy this idea.
