Item the first: Ginger Vinagrette Dressing is teh yum.
Item the second: Today at Central Market on a whim I picked up a bottle of pure cane sugar Dr. Pepper. Oh my. Can someone please explain to me why we traded our souls and good taste for High Fructose Corn Syrup?
Item the third: My dog Jake is a total freak. First, he just looooves pocky. He even knows the word pocky, and pays close attention if I have any. Second,
Item the fourth: Pocky. 'Nuff said.
Pocky? ‘splain, please.
Pocky! It’s yummy. It’s a japanese snack, chocolate (among others) covered biscuit stick thingies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocky
Good stuff!
Jake just gets the end, that’s not chocolate covered of course. Dunno if he likes strawberry pocky yet…
Not that he needs any.
Not that I do, either.
POCKY!
That does look yummy. And I’m going grocery shopping tomorrow. This could be a bad thing. Or a good thing, depending on your POV, of course…..;-)
Those Dr. Pepper’s are teh r0x0r aren’t they? :)
The answer to item the first: pressure from the US corn industry, to keep it alive and prosperous and reduce the amount of imports required from those pesky sugar-producing, third-world countries. Not that I grew up in a sugar-producing area and know anything about it, or anything! ;-)
Frankly, a lot of processed food in America tastes off to me, because of the presence of corn syrup. But I’m not big on sugar in the first place and don’t drink soft-drink at all.
