SQUEEEEE!

I got an early Giftmas present last night. See, pre-ordered Animal Crossing (DS) for me as a Giftmas present. I do the bookkeeping for the family1, keeping track of bank accounts, credit cards, etc., which means that I get receipts. Around Giftmas and birthdays, he keeps the receipts, but tells me the amount and what card it went on (credit or checking). The amount doesn't matter, because we agree on spending limits before hand. So had gone to GameStop to buy a new controller, and pre-ordered Animal Crossing. He looked at the receipt, and saw the controller, and an item that said “Store Charge: $5.00”. He did not see the item that said “Animal Crossing: $0”. So he gives me the receipt. I look at it, see the Animal Crossing item, and exclaim “Animal Crossing?!” I didn't even think about the DS game being pre-ordered, I just couldn't figure out why it said Animal Crossing and no charge.

So now is pouting, but I get to play Animal Crossing on my DS. :) Now I just need to figure out how to get online with it. I can't at home, because it can't handle WPA encryption. Pooh. Silly security conscious . (Not really, I totally agree with him. Even if it cramps my game.)

1 Mac program plug: Moneydance. It's a great little program, almost as good as Quicken, and way better than gnuCash. As a bonus, you don't have to use Intuit software. Ooh! I just discovered they've got Windows and Linux covered as well! Cool.

  1. Whee! Yay for early xmas presents!
I got mine last week – as an anniversary/xmas/birthday present (as they all fall within a month). It was a DVD of the Australian comedy Kath and Kim, to make me homesick for Australia. I didn’t need help for that, but I’m loving the DVDs anyway. :)
