For the third time, since April 2004, our car got hit. This time, it was very minor, so while I'm annoyed, I'm also grateful.
We were in a “go straight or turn left” lane and she was in a “you have to turn left” lane. We turned left and stayed in our lane; she did not. I don't think that she tried to go straight, I think the bump would have been much harder if she had.
So, we pulled into a nearby parking lot, checked out the damage and exchanged information. The funny part was, it took us a couple of minutes to even tell where she hit us! It was a tiny dent, some scrapes, and the rubber trim around the wheel well was torn off.
I don't know if she was on the phone or not, but she did have a little dog loose in the car. He was bouncing all over the front seat when I went to look at the damage to her car. (Busted lens cover, and I don't remember what else. Looked a little worse than ours.)
I took the Beast in to the shop yesterday for the estimate: $1084. Unbelievable. Supposedly it'll be done by the end of the week. I hope so. The rental they've got me in is huge – it's a Ford F150 XLT Triton. Nice, but wow.
In other news, my cream cheese is half-frozen! This saddens me.
