That's Ms. Fixit, to you…
So our toilet in the master bedroom has been flushing weirdly. You’d turn the handle and it was like it couldn’t lift up the flapper thing in the bottom of the tank. This morning I got fed up with it, and took a look. The arm that is raised by the handle to lift the flapper thing (in the toilet in the bathroom in the house that Jack built) was in the process of disintegrating. In fact, it snapped right off when I poked at it. The silly thing was plastic, so I can’t say I’m surprised. Then I noticed…

Life is what happens between blog posts
Whups, it's been a while. It's just been my plain 'ol boring life, but gosh it takes up time. I'm up to 32 books so far this year – I really need to update the List. I'm slow on books this year for several reasons: Work, for one – it's funny how you get behind on reading if you have an actual job. Also, I've been slobbering over the powerbook, and spending more time playing console games. But reading is still a priority, it's just a little slower. But one reason I haven't updated is that I'm still learning to…

LJ Anniversary
I've been posting in this online journal/blog for four years now – sometimes frequently, sometimes sporadically. It's been a lot of fun. I'm grateful for the friends I've made, and for the brief glimpses you've given me into your lives. I'm not going anywhere. :) Date created: 2001-05-30 21:45:04 Date updated: 2005-05-30 17:24:53, 6 seconds ago Journal entries: 794 Comments: Posted: 1,972 – Received: 1,071

Scanner Tag!
Tagged by I'm told that you must write something — anything — and send to five people or you will die of boredom. Well, this was an.. interesting meme. First time I've tried to hook up the scanner on my PowerBook, and apparently the first time I've tried to edit a picture! Neither one of which worked properly. Bah. Gaz detected the scanner fine; at least, it showed up properly in system profiler. However, it no worky at all. The scanner never even tried to light up, even when I pushed the “scan” button on the scanner itself. As for…

Gah.
“See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda.” – GWB –http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/05/20050524-3.html

Food for thought
The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all. – H. L. Mencken
