I was browsing through my counter stats (http://www.sitemeter.com, pretty good free counter) and I noticed that someone from bellsouth.net hit my site from a google search for “jen”, “<my maiden name >”, and “<ex-boyfriend's net handle >”. They went on to view at least 14 pages.
Curious – it's gotta be someone who knows some of my history, or more likely some of his. The latter is much more likely, even though as everyone knows it's all about ME!</sarcasm >
LOL – the hits to my site always puzzle me. Should I be concerned when I get a smattering of hits from .gov and .mil? The search parameters alone are good for hours of bafflement.
It's like when you're driving and you see a wreck, or something odd going on. You drive by, and you never find out exactly what was going on. Frustrating. :)
I think that's enough italics for one post.
Question… is this detailed of a tracking version on a paid account or are you getting this detail of where the search came from through from a freebie account off the site? I am intrigued by this. I know I have a lot of people “randomly” finding me because of my handle… I wanna know who these freaks are!
You get quite a bit of detail from the free account. Not the full ip though – ya gotta pay for that. There’s some other bells and whistles you get when you pay. But the free one ain’t bad. You get referring page, entrance and exit, time, partial ip (first three octets), etc., etc. I set my stats to public for now if you want to see what you can get for free: http://sm6.sitemeter.com/default.asp?action=stats&site=s11norules Lemme know if/when you’ve looked so I can change it back.
Ah cool! I am checking it out now… will be audi in a minute. Thanks! I will see how this goes on my account now.
Oh yeah – I meant to say, I get a lot of hits from some whacked out searches. Kinda funny, kinda icky. Ah well, it’s the ‘net. :)
