What a great start to a weekend. Had some friends over last night for dinner and a movie. It was so nice! I forgot how nice it was to have people over!
This morning, got up to feed the cats an hour late, then back to bed and slept in til' noon. Gotta love that.
We'll probably just vegetate this afternoon, and tonight I want to go looking at Christmas lights. I have a love/hate relationship with Christmas, or as I call it now, Giftmas. I'm hanging on to the traditions of my family, when I don't really have a family as they/we never keep in touch. Also, I don't believe in the personage that took over the pagan celebrations, nor am I happy about the fact that the bloody “season” starts before friggin' Halloween these days. That's just wrong. Don't get me started about the “buy buy buy” mentality, either.
But mid-December I still love the music and the lights.
We actually did a tree this year. It's a little fake three footer, because we didn't feel like pulling out our fake 7 footer. We had to put it up high, because Max would NOT leave it alone, so I guess it's just as well we didn't try the big one.
Here are my townspeople. I've loved these since I was a child, and my parents had them before I was born.
